My idea is to have a recreation center that is open and available to the entire community. We will have classes for different ages. Classes such as "My Baby and Yó", Crafts, exercises, tutoring for students after classes, and activities.
Contact freepeople.org or another organization that could help us plant trees. Maybe City Hall would recommend where to plant. Or maybe we could ask residents if they want trees planted. Lemon Grove has more trees than many cities in San Diego, but we can always use more.....drought resistant, of course.
Expand the existing farmers market to become a weekly community event. We need about 100 community members who actively support the vendors that are coming, keep inviting and reminding Lemon Grove residents to show up for their market- a place to meet friends, share meals bought at the market, and take home fresh veggies with ideas on how to fix them.
Well, what if, the parks were brought closer to you? What if, you walked through a park to get to the park? Well, by implementing a Linear Access Parks System (LAPS) we can... more »
We all want to see it happen, and with funds from California Senate Bill 1 (SB1), we may just get it. However, I must pose the question, "Is it enough to simply repair our streets, or should we be asking for more?"

We could also invite our LG restaurants to contribute a recipe that isn't secret. They could then display and sell the cookbooks from the restaurants. We could all buy/sell the cookbooks with the help of the orgs that want to participate..
There used to be an org that connected residents so that they could help each other. A student might cut someone's grass and then that student gets tutoring time from another resident (or whatever). It would take a great deal of organizing, but I love the concept. I'm sure some of the old timers remember this program and could help.
What if we involved children in community issues to help them understand issues, the challenges within, and in the process of creating solutions? Maybe they would have a better understanding and appreciation of the things their parents are concerned about too.
Maybe parents would learn more about what kids see, and what they think of what they see. This would be good,... more »
Invite the local churches, elem, middle and local high schools, community groups and LG Families and friends to participate in a neighborhood walkathon/Jogathan. We could raise funds for the Local Parks and Rec access/improvements that would benefit the whole.
